2025 Racing Season Starts

The race this Saturday is the first of the 2025 season and will be Round the buoys.

There will be a skipper's meeting on the breakwater at 9:00 am to discuss the proposed course and adjust as necessary to accommodate current conditions.

The weather forecast is for sunny conditions with Windy forecasting light winds of 2 to 6 knots.

Please confirm your intent to race and submit a current racing waiver.

Starting Procedure

  1. The start line will be a range from Moat Point and the SFB.

  2. There will be a VHF radio check at 9:45 am, please ensure your radio is on to Ch 68.

  3. No flags will be used.

  4. The race will commence at 10:00 am unless there is a postponement.

Finishing

All races finish by taking a range from the start/finish buoy (SFB) to Mouat Pt. The SFB must be to starboard and be within 100 meters of the boat.  A boat must reach the SFB by 3:00 pm (except for races as noted in the schedule) otherwise the last intermediate time point before 3:00 pm will determine the race.

Notes

- Please ensure that your engine is shut off 5 minutes prior to race start.

- Please police yourselves.  If you make a mistake (e.g. fail to yield right of way, hit or pass on the wrong side of the SFB, etc.) do a 360 degree turn before you reach the first mark.

- Know the course and the time points. Please record time at each time point and forward with course finish time.

- Just in case the starting signals are off by a few seconds please know what time it is, i.e. consult your timing devices or listen on AM radio for CBC's 1000 time signal.
